Join St. Hubert Parishioners to Visit 5 Women Religious Communities in the Twin Cities

To culminate National Vocation Awareness Week, the Office of Delegate for Consecrated Life is sponsoring Religious Communities Open House Sunday on November 8. All the faithful of the archdiocese are invited, especially families, youth, and young adults to visit where our consecrated religious pray and ask questions to learn more about their life and vocation.

St. Hubert will be gathering as a parish group to visit five women religious communities together during the open house day, and we invite parishioners and their families to join us. This is not an event only for those who are discerning a religious vocation, but it's a beautiful opportunity for all of us to pray for and get to know our religious sisters here in the Twin Cities!

Bach-and-Forth

Christopher Kachian, guitar, and David Jenkins, organ, present a concert of chamber and keyboard music by the father-and-sons team of Johann Sebastian, Carl Philip Emmanuel, and Wilhelm Friedemann Bach on Saturday, November 14 at 7:00 PM. This event is free to attend.

Christopher Kachian is guitar professor for the Department of Music, Film, and Creative Enterprise at the University of St. Thomas. Organist David Jenkins served for 35 years as music director of The Saint Paul Seminary and as adjunct instructor in music for the University of St. Thomas. The duo specializes in fresh, stylish arrangements of classics from Bach and beyond, performing under the name, The Society for the Doctrinal Affectation of Baroque Music.

Join the men of St. Hubert for a powerful Advent retreat centered on the theme “Trusting God Through the Eyes of St. Joseph.” As we prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ, this retreat offers a unique opportunity for spiritual growth, renewal, and deeper fraternity by reflecting on the life and virtues of St. Joseph: his faith, humility, courage, obedience, and unwavering trust in God.

Set amid the beauty and tranquility of northern Wisconsin, this retreat is designed to help men step away from the noise of daily life and encounter the Lord more deeply. Through the example of St. Joseph, participants will be invited to grow as disciples, husbands, fathers, leaders, and brothers in Christ.

The retreat experience will flow from a series of short conferences, personal testimonies, small group discussions, daily Mass, liturgical and contemplative prayer, fraternity, and outdoor experiences, including opportunities for hiking and a campfire gathering. Whether you are seeking spiritual renewal, stronger Catholic friendships, or a fresh perspective for Advent, this retreat provides the space and support to deepen your relationship with Christ.

Men will also have the opportunity for individual spiritual counsel with Deacon Greg Schultz and Deacon Martin Meyer, as well as the Sacrament of Reconciliation with Fr. Derek Gilde.

Want more time to pray? Come early Thursday evening December 3 for quiet pre-retreat reflection on your own. Quiet hours, the chapel, and independent reflection material will be made available to help you decompress so you can be more receptive to the spirit as you enter retreat mode. Please note that meals during the evening of December 3rd and breakfast the morning of December 4 would be on your own.

Come away this Advent to see the world through the eyes of St. Joseph and return home strengthened in faith, renewed in spirit, and united in Christian fraternity.

Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest

The Knights of Columbus Council 10031 St. Huberts would like to invite all children to take part in the Knights of Columbus “Keep Christ in Christmas” poster contest for all boys and girls from ages 5 through 14.

By engaging the talents of our young people, we hope they will come to a deeper
understanding of the true meaning of Christmas, and that their artwork will bring others to remember Christ in Christmas.

The contest will be conducted locally with winning entries announced on 12/5/2026 (at the St. Nichols Party) and advancing through district/regional and state competitions to the international level. The winning entries will serve as the basis for a series of international “Keep Christ in Christmas” posters, with creative credit going to the artists.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in each age group, locally and at the other stages.

Please fill out the attached entry form and turn in your poster by November 20 at 4:00 PM to the parish office or if you attend St. Hubert Catholic School to Guy Olson earlier in the day.

Poster should be approximately 11x17 inches and include your name, age, grade, and parents phone number on the back. If pastels, chalk, or charcoal are used, the poster must be laminated or covered with clear plastic. All entries become property of the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council office. Posters cannot be returned in most cases.

Extreme Faith Camp 2027 Pre-Registration

Pre-registration for Extreme Faith Camp is now open! Extreme Faith Camp (EFC) is our annual middle school retreat where teens encounter Jesus for a whole week and includes all the high-adventure activities associated with summer camp. Our dates for next summer's camp are July 26-30, 2027 at Trinity Woods Catholic Retreat Center in Trego, Wisconsin.

The purpose for pre-registration is to give an opportunity for first-time 8th graders to attend Extreme Faith Camp as 8th grade is the last year of camper eligibility. Priority will start with first time 8th grade and move down through first time 6th graders. Extra consideration will be taken to participants whose parents are willing to serve as chaperones for our week of camp, any camper who has a sibling eligible for camp, and teens who participate in St. Hubert Youth Ministry events.

Pre-registration is not a guarantee of getting a spot. It is a way to get your child’s name on this list to be admitted to EFC using the above criteria. If we have more pre-registrations than camper spots available, your child may be put on a waitlist. People may decline admittance, drop out, or more spots may become available for St. Hubert which could promote your child’s name from the waitlist. Please keep in mind that the waitlist will run until May 31st.If your child is selected to attend camp, you will receive the full registration in mid-December.

All pre-registrations must have a $100 deposit to be considered. If your child is not admitted to EFC, or if you decide to pull your child's name from the waitlist, your deposit will be refunded.The final approximate cost for EFC is $560. This may change depending on the cost of bussing.

Feed My Starving Children

Full Tables. Full Hearts

As planning begins to gather with family and friends at the Thanksgiving table, don’t forget the packing tables at Feed My Starving Children. Come pack with family, friends, businesses, neighbors, etc. at FMSC in Chanhassen. Fill a table with packers and your heart will fill with joy knowing children around the world will be fed. Full tables, full hearts.

Pack and Pledge

Holiday Pack and Pledge shifts combine meal packing with a pledge to fund the meals your group packs. Your donation pays for the ingredients, ensuring every meal is fully funded and ready to ship. By giving and packing, individuals and groups multiply their impact, helping FMSC provide more meals and its food partners feed more children. Join us on Thanksgiving, select Sundays in December or Christmas Eve to start a new family tradition.

St. Hubert’s members have reserved spots in the 12:00–1:45 PM packing session on the third Wednesday of every month. You can sign up here for Wednesday, November 18. Reserve your spot for December 16 too!

Need a Different Time?

There are many ways to get involved beyond the reserved daytime sessions. With 29 packing sessions offered Monday through Saturday, you can choose a time that works best for your schedule.

World Mission Sunday

In 1926, Pope Pius XI established World Mission Sunday so that every Catholic parish could share in the Church's missionary work. The first collection was taken in October 1927, and each year since, the faithful around the world have come together on the second-to-last Sunday of October to pray for and support the missions.

Your gifts are shared through the Pontifical Mission Societies with young and growing churches that can't yet support themselves, where the Gospel is often proclaimed in the hardest places.

Community Food Drive

Our first ever parish wide food drive was a huge success! We collected 4424 pounds of food that was divided between PROP and Bountiful Basket. We also collected $2,161 in monetary donations. Congratulate yourselves on a job well done! Thank you to all who contributed. Because of you people will eat.

Thank you to all the volunteers who worked on the food drive. Whether you collected bags from grocery stores, handed out bags, collected food, or drove food to the food shelves or something else, the food drive would not have happened without you.

Thank you to Father Derek whose kind and steady presence guided us through this process.

Sharing & Caring Hands

A huge thank you to everyone who donated food items and/or volunteered to serve our sloppy Joe lunch last Thursday. We fed almost 100 hungry souls and your help is so appreciated! Thank you for serving in this ministry.

Our next lunch will be on Thursday, December 31.
