Meet our New Director of Music & Liturgy
Tim Jacquet is a native Houstonian who comes to us from Grand Prairie, Texas, in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. He brings more than 46 years of experience in Catholic parish ministry, music, liturgy, administration, development, and nonprofit leadership.
Tim’s journey in church ministry began in 1980 when he was preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. During his preparation, the bishop met personally with the candidates and asked Tim a question that would have a lasting influence on his life: “What gift are you willing to offer the Church?” Tim responded by becoming involved in parish ministry, beginning a commitment of service that has continued throughout his adult life.
Over the years, Tim has served parishes and Catholic organizations in Texas, Kansas, Nebraska, and the Washington, D.C. area. His ministry experience has included leadership in music and liturgy, youth ministry, faith formation, stewardship and development, parish administration, and pastoral ministry. He has also served in diocesan-level positions and on numerous nonprofit and community boards.
Tim is a graduate of Friends University in Wichita, Kansas, where he earned degrees in Music Education and Business Administration. He also earned a degree in Nonprofit Management and has pursued graduate studies in nonprofit management and music education, including studies at City Vision University and the University of Texas system.
His professional career has extended beyond parish ministry. After college, Tim worked in corporate equipment financing with AT&T and later in automotive management. His extensive nonprofit and community-development work eventually led him to establish Apple Capital, which provided financing and educational resources to small businesses. That work later became part of Apple Community Development Corporation, where Tim has continued helping entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations, and underserved communities gain access to education, technical assistance, and financial resources.
Tim has been active in community leadership throughout Texas. His service has included leadership with SCORE Fort Worth and numerous nonprofit organizations in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. In 2016, he was recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration as an Emerging Leader in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, and he was later honored as a Volunteer of the Year for his community service.
Despite his professional accomplishments, Tim considers his greatest vocation to be his family and his service to the Church. He and his wife, Tinita, are the parents of five children—three adopted and two biological—with their youngest now 12 years old.
Tim looks forward to getting to know the parish community, listening to its members, and working collaboratively to strengthen its music and liturgical ministries. After more than four decades of ministry, the question asked of him at Confirmation continues to guide his service: What gifts can we offer to build up the Church?
